Robbery Defense

Philip N. Clark, Esq.

If you’ve been charged with robbery in Nashville or Davidson County, you’re facing one of the most serious criminal accusations under Tennessee law. Robbery is a felony offense with steep consequences—long prison sentences, a permanent criminal record, and a serious impact on your reputation and livelihood. I’m Philip N. Clark, an experienced robbery defense lawyer who understands what’s at stake. My job is to provide you with an aggressive, strategic defense from the very beginning.

Tennessee law defines robbery as the intentional theft of property from another person using violence or the threat of violence. That definition includes a wide range of situations—from a purse snatching that escalates, to an alleged convenience store hold-up. Depending on the circumstances, the charges can quickly elevate to aggravated robbery or especially aggravated robbery, both of which carry mandatory prison terms if convicted. That’s why having the right robbery defense attorney matters.

As your robbery defense lawyer, I take the time to understand the facts, identify any weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, and develop a defense strategy tailored to your situation. Was there mistaken identity? Were your rights violated during the arrest or interrogation? Did law enforcement overcharge the offense based on shaky evidence? These are just a few of the critical issues I’ll explore while building your defense.

In Davidson County courts, robbery cases are pursued aggressively by prosecutors. You deserve a defense that’s just as forceful. With years of experience as both a defense attorney and a former law enforcement officer, I bring a perspective that few others can offer. As your robbery defense attorney, I will fight to protect your rights, your freedom, and your future every step of the way.
